The camera was fitted on R.A.F. Reconnaissance Spitfire's and Hurricanes. It used 16 mm Orthochromatic film supplied in 25ft lenghts with frame speed of 16,18,20 seconds,corresponding to the rates of fore of the Lewis Vickers K. It was controlled by an electrical switch operated by the gun firing pneumatic system. The camera has its original R.A.F. grey painted finish and maker marked 'Williamson MFG Co.Ltd , London & Reading' and marked with Air Ministry Logo and ref 14a/1389 and dated NOV/P/44. It was used in aerial reconnaissance and gunnery training capturing images of enemy targets. Early 12 volt version these were upgraded to 24 volts in 1943. The storage case features a red star which understand was added to items being sent to the Soviet Forces on the Eastern Front. The storage case has Air Ministry stamps and stencil markings and painted in R.A.F. grey blue finish. There are two magazines included ,one in the camera and spare one in box.
