Kriegsmarine field grade private purchase Officer's Cap .Dark blue doeskin wool with black ribbed mohair centreband. Detachable top is lined in blue rayon cloth with machine sewn celluloid diamond. Mid to late war matching eagle, cockade and visor oakleaves in gold celleon wire on dark blue wool base.
Visor rank is for U-Boat and surface ship Captains. Non standard but period chinstrap secured by two gilded anchor buttons. Right hand side of chinstrap has small tear to leather where attaches to button. Interior leather sweatband has a tear to front otherwise in good condition. Owner's name to inside of sweatband but difficult to decipher. Overall nice condition. |
