(Code: 4574) | | Complete with double ET decals. The maker ET is faint and does not show very well in the photograph only the size 64 can be clearly seen but in hand can be read as ET64. The batch number is 3843, batch numbers 3840 and 3841 are confirmed as double decal SS helmets on the German helmet vault data base. Early SS-VT helmets had at least two coats of paint and more commonly three as in this case, the early factory green is the first coat, then the black paint for parades and then the third grey / green paint for combat. The third grey / green coat is almost completely worn away leaving the black parade paint covering the majority of the helmet. Complete with well worn liner and chinstrap. The helmet was found in Russia and although semi relic was not ground dug. |
